- BY STEVEN RaE

TRIBUTES were today paid to a Tayside man killed in a road accident.

Jimmy Donald died after a twovehicle collision on the B9113 Montrose to Forfar road.

The collision — which involved a Triumph bike being ridden by Mr Donald and a Hyundai Tucson car — happened around 4.15pm yesterday.

Paramedics attended the crash but Mr Donald, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three occupants of the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital and treated for minor injuries before being released.

The road was closed in both directions for more than six hours as police carried out an investigation into the crash.

Tributes were today paid to Mr Donald, of Letham in Angus, with one person describing him as “one of the kindest people you would ever meet”.

One woman said: “R.I.P. — you will be sadly missed. Thoughts with all concerned, you were a good man.”

Another tribute said: “One of the best ones gone. One of the kindest people you would ever meet.”

A third well-wisher said: “No words at all. The best of the best is gone. He was the kindest person in the world.”

It is understood Mr Donald previously worked at Don & Low in Forfar and had studied at Dundee College.

Police Scotland today appealed for information about the crash.

A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Angus.

“The collision happened about 4.30pm yesterday on the B9113 Forfar to Montrose road, near Fledmyre Quarry, and involved a black Triumph motorcycle and a beige Hyundai motor car. The rider of the motorcycle was treated by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel but sadly died at the scene. “Three occupants of the Hyundai car were taken to hospital and were released after treatment for minor injuries. “Officers are appealing to witnesses who may have been travelling on the road and who may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision.” Mr Donald’s family were too upset to talk when approached by the Tele.
