Full points against Pars is vital insists Durnan

-

“Tonight will be difficult. We’ve rested, we’re ready, and it’s a home game, so we will be looking forward to it. We’ve still got a really good record at home, so it’s important we take maximum points and put in a good performance.

“Dunfermline are a good side. I think there was a stage at the start of the season where they were chopping and changing but they are very much a settled side now and they’re all performing well.

“Every time we’ve faced them we’ve played really well. I don’t think it will be too different to Falkirk because it’s going to be a difficult match. If we stick to our game plan, hopefully, we’ll get the points.”

United will have to be at their best if they are to make the run-in a fruitful endeavour, and Durnan feels they’ve already shown they can handle the big occasion.

“We want to be going into the play-offs being positive and having that belief. When the play-off comes it’s going to be on-the-day stuff.

“We can build good momentum and try to pick up the vital points that we need. But we have to focus on winning the matches first and we can think about play-offs when they come.

“In the Challenge Cup Final we did well and produced when we had to. It might not have been our best performance but everyone stepped up when they knew it was needed.

“We know we can do it. It’s about making sure we can do it for the 90 minutes across the rest of the games we’ve got.”
