FORAN’S FULL FOCUS ON CALEY SURVIVAL

-

RICHIE Foran insists he remains fully focused on leading Inverness’ rescue mission despite rumours suggesting his j ob was under threat.

The Highlanders were forced to issue a statement denying the club’s board were meeting this week to discuss t he Irishman’s future as manager.

Caley Thistle sit four points adrift of safety but could drag t hemselves back i nto t he hunt f or survival if they can topple nearest rivals Motherwell at Fir Park tomorrow.

Foran knows his performance will be scrutinised after just one win in their last 21 games.

But he is not willing to throw in the towel just yet.

“It’s not true — there was no board meeting about my future,” he said when asked about recent reports.

“The club have put a statement out, so everything will be done face to face with the chairman. It doesn’t get me up or down.

“It’s not affected me. I’m quite strong-minded. When you take a job on, you’ve got to expect criticism, rumours, speculation and lies.

“It was a bad defeat against St Johnstone last weekend, we controlled an hour of the game and couldn’t score. We weren’t ruthless and St Johnstone were. That’s all in the past now and we’re looking up, to catch teams. We can’t go any lower and teams above us will be looking over their shoulders. We go into these last six games fearless.”
