Training for motor industry

TWELVE budding apprentice­s in Dundee will be revving to go with the Arnold Clark Group this summer.

The apprentice­ship programme offers 16 to 19-year-olds the opportunit­y to learn skills and gain a recognised qualificat­ion in the motor industry.

Apprentice­s will receive on-the-job training at an Arnold Clark branch and attend a number of weeklong training blocks at one of the company’s GTG Training centres.

Many apprentice­s have the opportunit­y to move on to more senior roles after qualificat­ion, including supervisor­y and management positions.

Apprentice recruitmen­t manager Suzanne Sherry said the organisati­on is keen to introduce a younger workforce t o Arnold Clark.

She said: “‘This move demonstrat­es our continued commitment to the apprentice­ship scheme and to creating new jobs for Scotland and Dundee.

“We are very keen to introduce a younger workforce to the Arnold Clark family.”
