ROUND-UP Letham team best yet

President hails Perth outfit as they hunt local success

Their only defeat has come away to Oban Saints in a Scottish Cup last-16 replay. Saints lost 3-1 to Colville Park in their semi at Hamilton last Saturday.

Although Letham team boss Alan Ferguson and his staff are adopting a “we’ve won nothing this season yet” stance, club president Ken Drummond states the present side are “the best Letham team ever.”

Ken has been with the club since he helped found it in 1960 and, since then, over 100 Letham players have signed for senior sides, with the club winning many honours.

He said: “Alan and his staff deserve great praise f or what they have accomplished. They have put together a team which has a great style of play and they are scoring a lot of goals.

“I have seen a lot of good Letham teams but this is the best one yet.

“They don’t seem to have any weaknesses but, as Alan says, they have won nothing this season yet.”

PERTH’S Letham Amateurs are unbeaten in all local competitions this season and also in the North of Tay Cup where they are due to meet Hilltown Hotspurs at the semi-final stage.
