Kirrie maintain a narrow gap at top

IN the North League, it is advantage Kirrie Thistle after the leaders’ goalless draw away to second-placed Thornton Hibs.

Thistle remain two points clear of the Fifers but both are very much favourites to go up.

In a game of few chances, Bryan Duell’s free-kick which skimmed the Hibs bar was the closest shave.

North End got back in the winning way when Ross Lunan’s side comfortabl­y beat Coupar Angus 3-0.

Richard Doig and Jamie Reid both hit trebles as Luncarty thumped Forfar Albion 13-0.

In the battle of the Vics, Brechin emerged 3-1 winners at Arbroath. Douglas Crowe (2) and Colin Lawson had the visitors three up before Kellon Lyons scored the hosts’consolatio­n four minutes from time.
