Keep the matches coming
DUNDEE United will be massively disappointed they couldn’t take the chance to go second after Falkirk’s slip.
The main thing right now, though, is to make sure they’re playing well in the play-offs.
Finishing second would give a 10-day break for the team which isn’t always a good thing.
If a team has injuries then they’ll probably prefer the time to recover but sometimes it’s better to just keep playing.
I know as a player I would prefer to keep the games rolling.
That’s something boss Ray McKinnon can use to drum into them and keep things positive.
Keeping players sharp for 10 days in training is a difficult thing to do.
And I’m not sure sitting waiting as the secondplaced team is better than actually playing the games.
You’ve got to make sure you win your tie, of course, but I do think the team is moving in the right direction, if a bit slowly.
It’ll be a big ask to go all the way through the play-offs.
IT was a frustrating afternoon for us at Lochee United at the weekend. A 2-1 defeat to Newtongrange Star saw our six-game unbeaten run end. They are fighting for their lives and we aren’t and you could see by the displays of the two teams — it was a typical end-of-season game.
