Scheme is saving firms cash

NEARLY 1,400 businesses across Dundee have taken advantage of a Scottish Government scheme to help them reduce their energy, water and raw materials usage.

Resource Efficient Scotland is delivered on behalf of t he Scottish Government by Zero Waste Scotland and has already helped 1,377 small to medium-sized businesses i n the city find savings.

Since Resource Efficient Scotland was establishe­d in 2013, it has helped firms across the country save a combined £40 million.

Adviser Emma Lawrie said: “There has never been a better time for small to medium-sized enterprise­s in Dundee to take advantage of this free money-saving service, which on average shows businesses how they can reduce energy bills by a quarter.

“Just a quick call to one of our expert advisers is all that’s required to kickstart the process.”

She added: “I would encourage anyone looking to make savings across their business to join the many others who have already got i n contact with us.”

Resource Efficient Scotland works with firms in the private, public and third sectors. Each year more than 34,000 individual­s from a range of organisati­ons access its support programme and downloadab­le resources.
