IN the Dundee Saturday Morning Football League Balgay Bar First Division, FC Kettledrum require one win in their remaining five matches to be crowned champions.

They secured a 3-0 success over Coldside followed by a 12-1 drubbing of DK Raiders.

Park Tool are second and look good for promotion having seen off nearest rivals Fintry Rovers 3-0 and Monifieth Hurricanes 4-1.

Rovers bounced back with a 4-2 win over Wellbeat to keep them in the play-off spot.

Craig Hay’s two goals takes him to 40 for the season. Damien Coogan scored from just outside his own box and a trialist nabbed the fourth.

In the Trident Trophies Second Division, Wednesday night’s cup final saw FC Menzieshill and Cairdy Thistle contest an entertaining match.

FC Menzieshill got off to a dream start with a free-kick going into the top corner in the first two minutes. They further extended their lead inside 20 minutes.

Despite sustained pressure from Cairdy Thistle, a crucial third followed midway through the second half and the scoreline remained 3-0 to see the Menzieshill lads pick up their first silverware.

As a bonus, they secured promotion on Saturday despite losing 3-2 to Dundee City. Other results went their way.

Stobswell AFC have already bagged the title of Second Division champs and remain on course to maintain their 100% win record

They saw off Charleston Athletic 3-1 despite being reduced to nine men after two ordering offs.
