End of an era for Harp at Beechwood Park

-

IT will be a nostalgic afternoon at Beechwood tomorrow, as Lochee Harp play their final game at the ground before moving to a purpose-built stadium just across the road.

It will be particularly poignant for the Kelly brothers — Jim, Jack and Albert — who have been associated with the ground for a combined total of almost 150 years.

Until the new stadium is built, Harp will ground share with Violet.

It goes without saying they will be hoping to sign off at Beechwood with a victory and they should get it against struggling Brechin Vics, who have lost their last four matches.

Manager Michael Gormley will have Connaire Connelly and Gordon Ramsay available following a period of suspension but, with a number of other players nursing injuries, he will make a late selection.

Luncarty complete their season with an away game against Newburgh. The Bleachers, who lost 3-2 at home to Kirrie Thistle in midweek, expect to be on the same lines.

Arbroath Vics may include trialists for their game at Lochore. Vics will be without Josh Chalmers, Steve Forence, Ryan Lewis, Marc Walker and Connor Gray.

Blairgowrie held their endof-season function recently.

IAN Plenderleith was awarded the joint honour of club Player on the Year and the Players’ Player title. Gordon O’Brien picked up the Supporters Player of the Year.
