Kirriemuir win in the Highlands

IN the Scottish InterCount­y Top Ten Bowling tournament, Kirriemuir went to Inverness and won six points to two. They now play Wellington Park in Greenock tomorrow.

In the Scottish Cities and Counties Championsh­ip match at Whitehall, Angus lost 135-94 to Bon Accord.

Arbroath, participat­ing in their first Hunter Cup, won 15-13 over Muirhead & Birkhill.

What a final it proved to be with the result only decided in the 17th and final end.

The winning Arbroath rink was Malcolm Anderson, George Mathieson, Ronnie Beattie and Neil Herron.

The Muirhead rink was Ron Sturrock, Ian Stirton, Jake Beattie and John Mulholland.
