Dens keeper for patience

- BY GEORGE CRAN

SCOTT Bain says Dundee are determined to make up for Wednesday night’s defeat at Hamilton tomorrow — but they’ll be doing it their own way, the “right way” as he puts it.

The 2-0 home defeat to Inverness in midweek was a huge let-down for the sizeable crowd that turned up to see the season’s last game at Dens Park.

And goalkeeper Bain wants to put that right at the SuperSeal Stadium to finish off what has been a frustrating season on a high.

He said: “We want to put on a good performance for the fans but more importantly for ourselves.

“We felt we let ourselves down on Wednesday with how we played and we want to put that right, especially after the three games before and how good we were.

“The last three performances before the Inverness one were great.

“We’ve passed the ball well, the tempo’s been high and we tried to play the right way.

“We did that on Wednesday and there was a bit of negativity creeping in from the stands at the way we were playing.

“But it’s the same way we played the last three games and the fans were happy with that, so I think they need to realise we’re trying to be a football team and trying to do things right.

“It didn’t quite come off for us on Wednesday but we’ll go again tomorrow.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to put ourselves in a good position to really achieve something in the bottom six and we’ve let it slip but we’ve got another game quickly and we can go again.”

With a good following expected to travel to Hamilton to cheer on the Dark Blues in their final game of the season — and possibly interim boss Neil McCann’s final match in charge at the club — Bain is hoping to send the supporters home happier than after the Inverness game.

But he is also asking for a bit of patience with the team as they continue to play out from the back and risk putting themselves under pressure, despite concern from the fans in the stands.

“They need to realise we have a gameplan to play through the lines,” he added.

“All the chances we created on
