Bain appeals from support

-

Wednesday were from playing from the back, playing through the lines, people being brave on the ball.

“That’s the way we want to play, that’s the way the game should be played and that’s the way the manager wants us to play.

“I think the last few games, even on Wednesday, we passed the ball well and we need to keep that going.

“We want to finish on a high again and finish off the season strong.

“Obviously, we wanted to win on Wednesday but it wasn’t to be.

“We’re all 100% on the way we want to play, though, and, if the fans get behind us and support us in the way we want to play with more positivity, then that’ll definitely help.”

Bain also dismissed any notion of the players taking their foot off the pedal with safety already assured before the game against Inverness.

The defeat to Caley had plenty of hallmarks of an end-of-season contest from Dundee’s point of view.

Hamilton’s defeat at Ross County on Tuesday night did the job for the Dark Blues in sealing safety but the goalkeeper says that result had no bearing on the team’s performance.

“I can only speak for myself, it didn’t affect me, I think we were still playing for a lot.

“We’re still playing to win games and to prove people wrong.”
