Thieves ‘disgusting’

Mum left feeling sick after night raid at family’s home

- BY JAMES SIMPSON

A MUM has been left “disgusted” after thieves broke into her home and made off with thousands of pounds worth of electrical goods — even stealing her son’s schoolbag.

Pamela George, 53, who lives in Constitution Crescent, had her home targeted while she, her partner Ewan, an ambulance technician, and son Charlie slept.

Crooks made off with an XBox 360, PlayStation 4 and Wii U at around 2am on Monday and attempted to make off with a 50-inch TV which was dumped in nearby Union Terrace.

Pamela said “felt sick” that someone had been in her family home.

She said: “We’ve had forensic staff and sniffer dogs checking the area for prints. We aren’t sure of the full extent of what’s been taken but it’s thousands of pounds worth of stuff.

“They’ve even taken my son’s school bag with his school work in it, Ewan’s jacket and about five pairs of shoes.”

Pamela said she was “really angry” about the intrusion into her home but was relieved no one was injured during the early morning theft.

She said Charlie, 11, a pupil at Rosebank Primary had been “brilliant” despite the ordeal and his consoles being stolen.

She added: “He was more relieved no one was injured and he’s right — no one has died.

“But you work hard to get these items and it makes you really angry that someone comes into your home while you sleep to take them.

“Our dog Jasper woke us up and I reckon we missed them by minutes.

“We ran down the stairs and the spare room which we’d turned into a games room was turned upside down it was like a whirlwind had gone through it — we contacted the police straight away.”

A police spokesman confirmed officers are investigating, adding: “If anyone has any information which could assist in this inquiry, particularly if they saw any persons in the area carrying or attempt to hide items, please call 101.”
