Golden time for Jack at huge Sheffield meeting

-

JACK Milne (Dundee City Aquatics) competed in the British Swimming IPC (paralympic) international meet at Sheffield.

This is one of the top annual para swimming meets in the world, with swimmers competing.

It was doubly important for 15-yearold Jack as he had to undergo testing to be classified as an S14 (swimmers who have an intellectual impairment, which leads to the athletes having difficulties with regards to pattern recognition, from every continent sequencing, and memory, or having a slower reaction time, for competition at international level).

He was then able to go up against multiple paralympic champions for the first time.

And Jack did himself and his club proud by emerging with multiple personal best times and a number of top 10 British rankings.

Jack qualified for a number of British finals, earning bronze in the 200 metres individual medley and gold in the 100 metres butterfly where he is now ranked No 5 in Britain. Now he is looking to keep his good form going.
