THE dad of an Angus man killed in a collision with a car as he attended a music festival today paid tribute to his “fun-loving son”.

Scott Blake, 22 (pictured below) died after being struck by the vehicle in Coronation Avenue, Montrose.

He had been attending a gig as part of Montrose Music Festival at the Hillside Hotel and was believed to have been walking to another show at the nearby Black Abbot when the accident happened on Sunday night.

A trauma team from Ninewells Hospital in Dundee was called to tend to Scott but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speaking at the family home today, Scott’s dad, Gavin, told the Tele: “Nobody had a bad word to say about Scott.

“He worked in the Black Abbot pub and was well known there.

“He’ll be really missed by all his friends and family.”

Gavin added: “Scott was just a funloving guy.

“He had a lot of friends in the town and was very well known.

“We are all devastated by this. We are all still taking in what’s happened.”

Scott, a former Southesk Primary School and Montrose High School pupil, is survived by his parents and two brothers.

Details of his funeral are still to be confirmed.

The Black Abbot was shut yesterday as a mark of respect for its former staff member.

Meanwhile, tributes have poured in on social media for Scott.
