Two-way contract for Inglis

-

DUNDEE CCS Stars have announced that 18-year-old local lad Kris Inglis (above) has signed a two-way contract with Dundee Comets for the new ice hockey season.

Inglis, a product of the Dundee Junior Development System, iced in 29 Elite League matches for the Taysiders last season, along with six Challenge Cups outings and two Elite League Play-Off games.

He will split the season between Stars and Comets as he continues to his development.

Stars coach Marc LeFebvre said: “Kris has been a good local Brit for us and I have seen good progress from him over the two seasons I have been here.

“The one thing I like about the lad is his commitment.

“He is a natural defenceman but I see him more as a forward.

“He has the big frame to become a power forward.

“He is only 18 so he has a lot of development coming through and that can help both the Comets and ourselves.

“He won two trophies with Comets last year and, to be honest, was one of the most popular players in our locker-room.

“He was well liked by both the imports and the Brits. He is a great guy all round and we are glad to have him.”

Kris said: “Being from Dundee and coming through the local development club, it’s always something I have aspired to.

“And, after my experiences last season, I am delighted to be playing for Stars again next season.

“Playing on a two-way contract with Comets I feel is ideal for me.

“It gives me the chance to play at that higher level with Stars and, at the same time, I can get the extra ice time I need playing with the Comets to help me in my development.”
