-

A BAND of Dundee United legends are to take to the roads of Dundee and Angus again to raise more money for charity.

John Holt, Dave Narey, Paul Hegar ty, Maurice Malpas, Dave Bowman and Jim McInally, among others, will spend Sunday, July 2, undertaking a bike ride that will see them visit all of the a r e a ’s s e n i o r football ground and raise money for the Maggie Centre at Ninewells in the process.

They completed the “circuit” two years ago, raising several thousand pounds in the process, and this time they are set to be joined by current United boss Ray McKinnon.

“Obviously United will be preparing f or t he new season but if they don’t have a game Raymond is going to do the route with us,” said John Holt.

“We start off at Tannadice in the morning, head for Arbroath, then Montrose and over to Brechin and Forfar before heading home, passing Dens Park on the way.

“It’s 75 miles but he’s a lot younger than us so it shouldn’t be a problem for him!”

Anyone wanting to contribute to the legends’ fundraising can do so at justgiving.com/fundraising/ John-Holt5 or by texting DUFC99 and the amount of their donation to 70070.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines are expected to unveil signings James Keatings and Billy King this week after signing the pair on pre-contracts before the end of last season.

Striker Keatings was signed from Hibs before the play-offs got under way with King following days later in sealing a switch from Hearts after spending last season on l oan at Inverness Caley Thistle.

United are also expected to release their new home kit for the 2017/18 season at the beginning of July.
