Tangerines pair are free to leave

-

DUNDEE United youngsters Aaron Murrell and Jassem Sukar have been told they are free to leave the club.

Both spent the last season on loan in League Two but are not part of manager Ray McKinnon’s first-team plans and the club won’t stand in their way if they find themselves a new club.

Teenager Murrell was signed last January after scoring 22 times i n 24 matches for Spartans in the Lowland League.

However, he’s struggled to push his way into the United first team and was sent out on loan to Cowdenbeath for the first half of last season before a similar deal saw him at Berwick Rangers for the second half of the campaign.

At Berwick he made 16 appearances, scoring three goals as they kept themselves clear of the relegation play-off.

Tw e n t y - o n e - y e a r - o l d defender Sukar, meanwhile, was signed from Sunderland’s youth system two years ago but hasn’t made a first-team appearance.

He was sent out on Development l oans to Peterhead and Brechin the season before l ast but enjoyed a much happier spell at Arbroath last season where he helped them to the League Two title.

Featuring 23 times for Dick Campbell’s side, Sukar was well t hought of at Arbroath and may well end up back at Gayfield next term.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines’ season ticket sales are doing well with 2,484 already sold.

The club are hoping to reach their target of 4,000 by the end of the early-bird discount which ends in two weeks. Prices start at £299 for adults, £175 for seniors, £165 for U/18s and £18 for U/12s under that discount.
