Reading Rooms set for family rave

-

BABIES and young children will be able to boogie on down with their parents when a family rave comes to Dundee.

The Reading Rooms will host the event, which is aimed at families with kids aged up to eight years old.

Organised by Big Fish Little Fish, there will be a multi-sensory dancefloor, bubble machines, club visuals and a giant parachute dance will help to create the atmosphere of a real rave.

Local DJ Alan Dobson will hit the decks to play a set of club classics and upfront dance music, which will be kept to a volume suitable for little eardrums.

There will also be a specially designated chill-out area for babies, as well as a craft area featuring colouring murals, modelling dough and transfer tattoos.

Big Fish Little Fish has put on events in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the organisation’s manager in Scotland said it was looking forward to coming to the City of Discovery.

Kirstie Wilson said: “I’ve been pretty much hounding the Reading Rooms for the last year to try to get in, as I just think it will work brilliantly for our events.

“I’ve been dedicated to making sure we take the party outside the Central Belt and to the people.

“We’ve already had parties in a converted church in Galashiels, and this year we’ll hit Kelburn Garden Party.”

Tickets for the event on Sunday July 23 are £8 for adults, £6 for kids and it’s free for tots who aren’t walking yet.
