Red Lichties add to playing squad
ARBROATH have signed 24-year-old Blair Yule from Cove Rangers.
The Red Lichties had the midfield man watched extensively with manager Dick Campbell describing him as “the best player in the Highland League”.
Yule had also spoken to Dundee United, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Peterhead but has opted to continue his career with Arbroath.
Campbell said: “Blair is a great addition to our squad, I am delighted he has decided to join us.”
The Red Lichties boss had already brought i n Thomas O’Brien and Danny Denholm from Forfar and Josh Skelly from Dundee to bolster the squad which won League Two last season.
“I’m also delighted to have signed O’Brien, Denholm and Skelly, who will also be great additions for us,” Dick went on.
Campbell has also been busy re-signing players. However, he has lost goalkeeper John Gibson, who has quit football due to work commitments.
Mark Whatley and Ryan McCord have penned two-year contracts while one-year deals have been signed by David Gold, Ricky Little, Gavin Malin, Bryan Prunty, Kane Hester, Ricky Gomes and Omar Kader.
Campbell is happy with t h e cl u b ’s p r e - s e a s o n fixtures which will see them playing Aberdeen, Dundee and Bolton at home.
“They are t hree very attractive and challenging fixtures,” said the Arbroath gaffer.
