Fringe comedy acts to appear at Dundee Rep

DUNDEE comedy l overs can get a sneak peek at some Edinburgh Fringe shows next month.

The city’s Rep Theatre will be hosting a special preview show on Saturday July 8, featuring two critically acclaimed Scottish comedians.

Scott Gibson and Fern Brady will both be performing a string of shows throughout t he Fringe, which runs from August 4-28.

The performanc­e is being organised by Dead Sheep Comedy, who previously brought comics such as Frankie Boyle and Fred MacAulay to the Rep.

Glasgow funnyman Gibson won the Best Newcomer Award at last year’s Fringe.

He became the first Scot to do so and i s quickly carving out a reputation on the Scottish comedy scene.

The aforementi­oned Boyle , Kevin Bridg es, Daniel Sloss and Des Clarke are just some of the names that he has supported on their UK-wide tours.

Former mental health worker Brady is recognised as one of the most promising female comics in Britain and is fresh off a stint performing across the pond.

Tickets cost £16 (£14 concession, £10 students) and are still available from the Rep box office.

The show starts 7.30pm.
