Man ‘had stand-up fight at nightclub’

A MAN allegedly engaged in a fight at a Dundee club then ran away from police officers and threatened their colleagues.

William McElroy, 32, of Dunmore Street, will stand trial on September 29 at Dundee Sheriff Court.

McElroy denies engaging in a stand-up fight at Club Tropicana, South Ward Road, on December 23.

He also denies resisting PC Robbie Milne and PC Louise Bruce by pulling his arms away from them and walking away from them before running off, at Marketgait, on the same date.

And he denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by swearing and threatening officers with violence at the charge bar of police headquarters, also on the same date.

An intermediate diet takes place on September 5.
