BAIRD BEGINS NEW CHAPTER UP NORTH

NEW Inverness manager John Robertson has started his rebuilding work in t he Highlands after snapping up former Dundee striker John Baird on a one-year deal.

The veteran frontman joins Caley Thistle after a two-and-a-half-year stint at Falkirk, where he scored 36 goals in over 80 appearance­s.

Now Robertson hopes the former Queen of the South, Par tick Thistle , St Mirren and Raith Rovers forward can help a side relegated from the Premiershi­p last term make a quick-fire return to the top flight.

Robertson said: “I’m delighted as well as everyone else to welcome John Baird to the football club.
