Centre’s latest exhibition explores the science of rockets and space.

“Boom! Bang! Blast Off!” boasts interactiv­e family activities with hands-on shows exploring what makes rockets fly, and the world of big telescopes.

For little ones, the Verdant Works museum is hosting its monthly Wee Weavers session on July 7, with stories, craft sessions and messy play for tots aged 2-5.

There’s juice for the wee ones, and tea and coffee for the grownups — and at £3.50 a head it’s a great way of taking in the Works’ breathtaki­ng setting.

Leisure and Culture Dundee has also kicked off its programme of summer activities for kids.

With everything from mini tennis and gymnastics, trampoline and ice skating training camps through to the week-long sport and splash programme, there’s something for everyone.

Camperdown Wildlife Centre is launching its range of five-day summer wildlife camps for kids aged seven-10.

The camp runs from 10am-5pm from Monday-Friday in weekly blocks and gives kids a rundown of nature learning in a fun and playful environmen­t.

ParkLives Dundee is also hosting a range of family activities throughout the summer.

This coming week, there’s a family tennis game on Sunday from 1pm-3pm at Dawson Park, equipment is provided.

Other fun activities to get stuck into include the street fit family session at Whitfield Green on Tuesday from 11amnoon, and the freeform play rangers session on Wednesday from 1.30pm-2.30pm. Kids travelling to all these events can ride on Xplore Dundee buses for 20p with the company’s new “Holiday Hop” offer. The fare is valid for up to three children aged 5-15 when accompanie­d by an adult with a valid ticket or concession pass.
