Local trio are shaping up for a good season

- By EXTRA COVER

AT the halfway stage of the Scottish cricket season, things are looking rosy for most Tayside and Fife clubs.

Arbroath sit top of the Eastern Premier Division with Forfarshire and Glenrothes also doing well.

The only side struggling are Falkland who sit bottom without a win.

Arbroath travel to Scroggie Park to meet the Fifers tomorrow and should be far too strong for them.

The Lichties should return with the points in the bag to continue their title challenge.

at Mannofield in what could be one of the closest games of the day.

The earlier fixture at Forthill saw 680 runs scored with the Dons just shading it.

The Dundee side are without Callum Garden and Rory Johnston who are away with the Scotland U/19 side but Matty Parker and Andy Wallace are available again after both missed last week’s win at SMRH.

Glenrothes are flying high after they beat Grange in what was arguably their best result.

They face another trip to Edinburgh where they meet last year’s champions Carlton. The home side sit seventh but still have a strong line-up.

For the Glens, Saffy Sharif and Fred Culley are scoring runs freely and Chris Mohale is performing well with the ball.

The other games are all-Edinburgh affairs with Heriot’s having home advantage over Grange and Watsonians and SMRH meeting at Myreside.

In the Western Premier Division, Uddingston and Prestwick lead the way.

Both should record victories as they meet Greenock and Kelburne who are both finding life tough.
