Be third time man Wolters

They did, though, find their way to promotion through the play-offs after finishing fifth.

Wolters was a regular in that season for Go Ahead in the top flight, mainly on the left wing, before heading to Den Haag in January where he was mainly used off the bench but helped them to a 10th-place finish, scoring once.

Go Ahead, meanwhile, finished bottom. Oddly enough, also in that team was Yordi Teijsse’s twin brother Kenny — he’s since moved to play in the USA — while Henrik Ojamaa, who arrived on loan at Dens Park in January, is reporting back to Go Ahead for pre-season this summer.

Position

Wolters has played the vast majority of his career on the left-wing but has been found on the right in a handful of appearances.

He’s played centre-forward and attacking midfield but is very much a left-sided wide player.

Among the history of Dutch players at Dens, there isn’t much happy reading.

The previous Dark Blue Dutchman was Khalid Hamdaoui, signed by Alex Rae in 2007 but only playing four league games in 18 months.

Before that, Dyron Daal came to Dens on loan from Aberdeen in 2007 and rattled in five goals in his first four matches in the First Division.

Going further back, there’s Frank van Eijs in 1999/00 and Ivo Den Bieman in 1992/93.
