DUNDEE is to get a daily coach link to Manchester Airport for the first time.

Megabus currently operates services from the City of Discovery to the very heart of the city in England’s north-west.

But its new M11 service will also stop off at Manchester Airport, which is the UK’s third busiest airport, handling more than 25 million passengers every year.

The seven-day-a-week service begins on Monday July 24 and will provide an additional link to London Victoria.

The service will arrive from Aberdeen at 6.05am, stopping off at Per th, Glasgow and Manchester City Centre before arriving at the airport at 1.10pm, terminatin­g in London at 5.50pm.

In the opposite direction, the coach will leave London at 8am, stopping at Manchester Airport at 12.10pm, continuing via Glasgow and Perth t o Dundee at 7.20pm, terminatin­g at Aberdeen.

One-way tickets are currently on sale for £7.

Peter Knight, operations director f or megabus. com’s Scottish services, said: “We are delighted to be making these amendments allowing passengers direct access t o Manchester Airport for the first time.

“With the continuing expansion of flights to and from Manchester Airport and the increase in both trans-atlantic and low-cost flights, we hope that this will be a welcome addition, particular­ly for customers travelling from Scottish destinatio­ns.”
