Hateley set for Glebe Park run

-

TOM Hateley is expected to make his first pre-season appearance when Dundee head to Brechin tonight for their third friendly of their build-up.

Long-term injuries apart, Hateley, James Vincent and Kosta Gadzhalov are the only squad members not to have seen action i n the wins over St Mirren and Arbroath last week.

That should change for the midfielder-cumdefender tonight and, by the end of the week,Vincent should also be back.

“Tom has had a wee bit of a hamstring strain but he will be back for Brechin,” said boss Neil McCann.

“Vinnie t ook a block tackle in training and it’s taken a little bit more time than we’d have liked for him to get over it but we’re hoping he can make the Bolton game on Friday. Kosta has a bit of a calf strain and it might be another week or so for him.”

As well as Hateley, the gaffer is set to have another look at former Arsenal kid Glen Kamara, who’ll play as a trialist for the third time.

Crescendo van Berkel and Nils Rutten, trialists in the opening two friendlies, have returned to the continent.

That would appear to leave Finn Kamara in the box seat when it comes to earning a permanent deal, although Neil has still to make a final decision on all three.

“I think they’ve equipped themselves well. There are a couple of discussions we need t o have and t hen decisions will be taken on them.

“Crescendo and Nils have gone home because they’ve been with us for a spell. Glen will stay longer.”

After using all his available men in the two games so far, the manager is likely t o give some players a big chunk of tonight’s action.

“I might give some longer in this one and others more time against Bolton.”
