No new face is likely to line up

-

ST JOHNSTONE manager Tommy Wright said it i s unlikely the club will have a new striker in the team for tomorrow’s home league fixture against Motherwell.

Saints yesterday sent Chris Kane out on loan to QOS, along with central d e f e n d e r J a s o n K e r r, leaving them with only two recognised front men, Steven MacLean and Graham Cummins.

Former Kilmarnock striker Souleymane Coulibaly i s t he l atest player to be linked with the Perth club.

The 22-year-old from the Ivory Coast started his career with Spurs before going on loan to Italians Grosseto.

Stints at fellow Italian clubs Bari and Pistoiese followed before spells at Peterborough and Newport.

His time at Killie is well remembered for a stunning long-range goal against Celtic at Parkhead.

In January this year, an £800,000 deal took him to Egyptian side Al Ahly but he has since left them and it is believed Al Ahly have terminated his contract.

With ex-Saint Stevie May having signed for Aberdeen, it could mean Miles Storey is nearer a Dons exit.

Saints have also been linked with him but it remains to be seen if either Coulibaly or Storey ends up at McDiarmid Park.

Paul Paton, banned for Saints’ Betfred Cup home loss against Partick, i s available to face Motherwell who are manag ed by Stephen Robinson who Tommy knows well from their time with Northern Ireland.
