A MAJOR project aimed at improving money management skills is to be held in Dundee over t he next three years.

Funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund, it will be delivered by the city council, Brooksbank Centre and Services, Dundee Citizens Advice Bureau, Discovery Credit Union, SCARF, Shelter Scotland, and The Wise Group.

A spokesman said: “This project runs until February 2020, with the core aims of improving money management skills and decreasing the number of people affected by debt as a barrier to social inclusion.

“Frontline officers will work with participants over an extended period.

“They will be involved in developing and delivering holistic action plans to improve par ticipants’ knowledge and skills.

“A key attribute of the frontline officers will be an ability to engage, encourage and maintain relationships.

“The team will be supported by specialist project staff who will deliver things such as debt guidance, energy advice, credit union membership support, and adult learning.”

There will be a recruitment and i nformation drop-in event on August 29 at the Caird Hall from 3pm-7pm.

The spokesman added: “There will be regular short talks throughout the event, providing information on the project, the local partnership behind the work, and the aims and delivery of the project.”
