Reid brace helps Tayport trounce Tranent

-

IN the Premier League, Tayport got over their midweek defeat at Kirrie when they travelled to Tranent and came away with a 3-0 victory.

All the goals came in the second half, the first coming in 52 minutes from a Marc Ogg penalty after Dale Reid was fouled in the box.

Reid then doubled their advantage in 75 minutes when he side-footed home from a Daniel Sanchez cross. Reid struck again late on.

It was a day to forget for Downfield, who, despite taking the lead through Bryan Duell, crashed to a 5-1 defeat at Fauldhouse.

Craig Morrison’s introduction from the subs bench 10 minutes from time was pivotal to St Andrews racking up their fourth straight win at Blackburn United.

The Fifers trailed the home side after conceding an early goal and, with five minutes left, looked to be staring defeat in the face.

However, Saints player/ manager equalised and then set up Daryl Falconer for the winner.

Kirrie salvage a deserved point at Haddington. Gary Archibald and Lee Cameron pegged back a 2-0 deficit. Scott Moffat completing his third hat-trick of the season to regain the lead for the hosts but Stewart Russell ensured justice with a leveller late on.

RESULT of the week — VIOLET earned local bragging rights with their 3-2 win at North End.
