Blairgowrie blow Shipbuilders away

-

EAST Craigie’s unbeaten North League run was ended as they crashed to a 7-2 defeat at Blairgowrie.

A Matty Adam hat-trick, a double from Gordon Norrie and strikes from Darren Neave and Rudi Brown sunk the Shipbuilders.

On a day to forget for the visitors, their only crumb of comfort was a double strike from Nik Mann, one from a penalty.

North End were comfortable 3-0 winners over Coupar Angus. After a goalless first half, Ryan Hunter gave the Dokens the lead from a penalty and Kieran Sturrock and substitute Ryan Smith added two more to seal the points.

One of the day’s best results was Harp’s 3-0 win over Kinnoull. Michael Gormley’s men were well worth their win, with top scorer Sam McDonald grabbing a brace and Connaire Connelly also on target.

Violet’s unbeaten start to the season was ended by a powerful Luncarty side who fully deserved their 4-2 win. The Perthshire side took a two-goal lead, both scored by Sean Fergus, but the Pansies levelled with counters from James McBride and Steven Harris.

However, the visitors responded through Kieran Donald and Danny Dobbie to seal victory.

In the battle of theVics, Brechin emerged victors by the odd goal in three at Arbroath. Bruce Hearn gave the visitors the lead after 12 minutes but Kellon Lyons equalised for the hosts four minutes later.

Barry Gourlay’s second half red reduced the Ogilvy Park side to 10 men and, 13 minutes from the end, Bradley Craigie netted the winner.

Ben Moffat’s first half-hat-trick laid the foundation for Scone Thistle’s 4-1 home win over Newburgh.

Stuart Fowler pulled one back for ’Burgh eight minutes after the restart but a Kevin Sinclair strike four minutes later restored the hosts’ three-goal lead.

Forfar Albion went down 7-1 at home to Lochore. Dylan Phillips grabbed their consolation counter.
