Davie Wemyss, for so long one of the main men at the helm of, arguably, Dundee’s most successful amateur football club, commented: “Tickets are going well but we still have a couple of tables available.

“The whole theme of the evening is to bring back players from all our different eras, which started in the early 1970s.

“In particular, we would be keen to hear from players from the Sunday Welfare team which won five different trophies in the 1973-74 years.

“Then, after we switched to the Angus Amateur FA to play Saturday football, we won four championships, in addition to our very first North of Tay Cup success.

“In the years 1985-87, we were a Midlands AFA outfit and won the top title twice, and the North of Tay Cup again.

“It would be great to have players from these eras at the event, in addition, of course, to all other seasons and for all first and second-team players.”
