Trampoline park should be allowed

-

I can’t believe it’s happened again!

The company wanting to build an indoor trampoline park, a company with other successful venues, has had its plan turned down by Dundee City Council as, wait for it, it does not meet their development plan for the area! What is the plan for the area? Do they have a pile of companies lined up wanting to use this land/building? I don’t think so. Apparently, a previous application to use the old cinema at the Stack was turned down.

This is a building which has lain empty for 25 years or more.

Again, why? Who else wanted it? Obviously no one. When will the council learn?

Dundee wants more than a bonnie Waterfront with a museum. Kids want things to do, places to go. Please explain.

Incredulous Reg.

I CAN’T believe — though shouldn’t be surprised — that a decision has been taken to prevent a trampoline park from opening in Dundee.

I know of people who drive many miles to reach the other venues this company owns.

They’d be delighted to have it on the doorstep and save the travel time and costs.

The council officers say its goes against the development plan. What plan is that? The one where buildings and spaces remain unused while the families of the city travel far and wide to take part in fun activities.

Dundee City Council, don’t be so silly. If folk are willing to invest then you must let them.

Fed up.
