“I already have initiatives planned where my new centre will serve underprivileged children and those who are less fortunate and may not have the financial means to visit such a centre.
“It will have programmes planned to get children off the street and give them an interest and possible employment.
“I can only commend the approach of Dundee City Council in relation to my own development and their lot of community positive contribution in regenerating this derelict property with an important new facility for the city.”
Fraser Middleton, whose architecture practice ARKTX is leading the development, added: “Such an exciting new centre of excellence will not exist anywhere else in the country.
“It will hopefully be a catalyst for regeneration in the area.
“It is important to recognise that the building is not simply a trampoline park but has been designed as a hub for the promotion of healthy living and exercise as well as providing a unique fun outlet with many exceptional features for those in their formative years.”
A spokesman for the Stobswell Forum said: “Stobswell Forum is delighted that a purpose-built industrial building, which has outlived its planned use, is being reused.
