Businesses canmakeus great again

-

I WAS reading the comments by Douglas Ross, Tory MP for Moray, as to his priorities on becoming Prime Minister.

I feel, rightly or wrongly, his change of tack and apology for the words he used suggests he overstepped the mark in parliamentary discussion.

But how then can we call ourselves a nation of free speech when those who represent the people are gagged in such a way?

Perhaps the next way will be to gag the press?

It was said to me before the election that the SNP would promote immigration into Scotland in order to keep the NHS afloat.

Having voted SNP I now realise that was not what I voted for.

At the close of the Second World War, Britain was bankrupt.

It was British company management that lifted us up by recruiting school leavers and returning troops and offering training schemes and apprenticeships that made us competitive again.

Parliament had nothing to do with it — other than to sell these businesses off to foreign companies.

Now parliament is of poor standing with the people and opportunist parties are a joke. It’s time for our company bosses and directors to make us great again, or Scotland’s future is looking bleak.

J.G., Lochee.
