All ‘Rosie’ as Dryburgh strike back for victory

DRYBURGH Girls 13s came out on top in an exciting 3-2 away win at Forfar.

Hannah Marsh gave the visitors an early lead, only to see Forfar go 2-1 up.

However, just before half-time, Rosie Pople grabbed a deserved equaliser.

In the second half, Dryburgh kept passing the ball well and pressed the Forfar defence — and that’s exactly how they scored the winning goal.

Morgan Airlie pressed high up the park and delivered a great pass into the path of Pople. Rosie kept calm to slot home her second.

Dryburgh 15s showed great character and resilience to record what must be one of the results of the season. They won 2-1 away to Dunfermline with a squad that was stretched due to injuries and absentees, leaving them with just 11 players.

Dunfermline took an early lead but Dryburgh equalised in the second half through Nyla Jay Murphy.

Then Rachel Keenan played a lovely through ball into the path of Grace Forrester, who danced round the keeper to finish in style to seal victory.

Monday saw Dryburgh U/12s face Monifieth 13s at Lochee Park with the visitors edging it 9-7. Dryburgh scorers were Kiara Moran (2), Sophie McFadyen (2), Paige Boyle, Mollie Howett and Teighan Milne.

Dryburgh Athletic Girls U/10 and U/11 enjoyed great games, with the 10s travelling to meet Kirrie and the 11s hosting Lomond Colts at Lochee Park. These girls are showing improvement.

Dundee City (blue) drew 3-3 against Raith Rovers in an SWFL Division Two (East) game played at Charlotte Street, Dundee.
