Ex-Saints forward Tade signs for Israeli club

-

FORMER St Johnstone striker Gregory Tade has continued his globetrotting career by signing for Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Gregory, who also played for Forfar and Raith, has joined the Israelis from Qatar SC.

The forward moved from Saints to Romanians CFR Cluj in 2015 and netted 22 times in 50 games for them.

That led to Steaua signing him but he wasn’t so prolific with the Bucharest club netting eight times in 24 matches.

He moved to Qatar last year and scored 11 times in 11 games and now he has moved on to Israel.

Meanwhile, Alan Mannus and Paul Paton have returned from World Cup duty with Northern Ireland.

They teamed up with their Saints team-mates today in preparation for Saturday’s home fixture against Hibs.

Saints U/20s kept their unbeaten run going with a 2-1 win over Dundee United at St Andrews.

Included in their squad was 16-year-old John Robertson, for who a big future is predicted. He came to Saints after netting 114 times in a season for Tynecastle Boys’ Club.

A week on Saturday, Saints face Dundee at Dens Park.

With a large travelling support expected to make the short journey, Dundee have provided Saints with advance tickets to sell to help minimise queues at the turnstiles on the day.

Prices are £24 for adults, £16 for O/65s and students and £10 for U/18s. In addition, to encourage families and specifically U/12s, there are a limited number of seats available in the family section but these are only available on a pre-purchase basis. U/12s in the family group get in for £2.
