Tierney: Paddy is a class act

-

CELTIC star Keiran Tierney thinks the Parkhead side have got a “top-class winger” in Patrick Roberts.

The Hoops re-signed Manchester City wideman Roberts on a season-long loan deal after a successful spell in Glasgow over the last two campaigns.

Tierney and Rober ts developed a close bond on and off the pitch in their time t ogether and t he 20-year-old Scotland full-back can’t wait to be reunited with his team-mate.

“Patrick will be a great addition,” Tierney said.

“He’s proven himself at Celtic, the fans know what he can give and the manager knows that. That’s why they wanted him back.

“It’s good to have another top-class winger i n the squad and there’s a few of them now.”

Celtic face Paris SaintGermain i n their first Champions League group stage game of the season next Tuesday. However, the Hoops must first beat Hamilton Accies at t he SuperSeal Stadium in the Premiership tomorrow evening to leapfrog league leaders Aberdeen.

And Tierney insists every game for Celtic is important.

“It’s a big game, a big Champions League night at Celtic Park. That’s what you want but we need to get the job done at New Douglas Park first.

“They’re all big pressure games and the more you p l ay, the more understanding and t he more used to it you’ll get.

“Especially with the qualifying rounds there were six big games we needed to get through at Celtic to get i nto the Champions League which builds you up for games.

“I’m feeling good, just a bit tired with two games in a couple of days but that’s natural. I’ll recover and be ready to go for Hamilton.”
