Stars new boys all set for Scottish Cup action

-

DUNDEE Stars join Edinburgh Capitals, Fife Flyers and Braehead Clan at Murrayfield this weekend in the Scottish Cup.

The event starts tomorrow (2pm) when Stars take on Flyers in the first semi-final. That will be followed by the second tie between Clan and hosts Capitals (5.30pm).

The final is on Sunday at 6.30pm. It will be preceded by the third and fourth place play-off (3pm).

Stars hope to have two of their three missing imports available for the games as both have obtained their visas.

Marc-Oliver Mimar and Patrick Lee should make their debuts with Chris Lawrence’s arrival due next week.

Dundee have made a good start with two wins and a penalty shootout loss.

Coach Omar Pacha, while looking to win the trophy, is looking forward to his charges having another set of games prior to the start of the league.

He said: “This is the first time this season we have the chance to play in a competition situation.

“So, while we want to win the tournament, it is equally important the guys use this to show everyone what they are capable of.

“We meet Fife first and there is no bigger incentive than that to go out and get the win for our fans.

“The players have to keep showing what they can achieve and build on the good work they have done.

“We are looking to have Lee and Mimar available. They will be thrown in with little or no practice.

“However, they are good players and will be up for the challenge.”
