Man detained in connection with ‘suspicious’ death
A MAN died in “suspicious” circumstances at a house in Glenrothes at the weekend.
Police and paramedics were called to an address in Greenlaw Crescent around 10am on Saturday and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man has been held in connection with the death.
Two properties in the street, in the town’s Macedonia precinct, were cordoned off. A tent was erected at the front door of one of them, understood to be a flat used as temporary accommodation for people who find themselves homeless, as an investigation by Police Scotland continued.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police are investigating following the death of a man at an address in Greenlaw Crescent, Glenrothes. The death was reported to police around 10am on Saturday September 9.
“Officers, along with t he Scottish Ambulance Service, attended the address. However, the man was, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the death, which is being treated as suspicious. A man has been detained in connection with this incident.”
The identity of the deceased is yet to be released.
A MAN accused of the murder of 38-year-old Colin Oliphant, who died in a house Keltyhill Avenue, Kelty, last Wednesday from numerous injuries, was due to appear in court today.
The 35-year-old was arrested and charged following a major investigation into the death of “doting” father Mr Oliphant.
