12-hour cast-on for charity

-

ASDA Kirkton in Dundee has given its support to charity The Sunshine Box by hosting a 12-hour “knit-athon” in store.

After dedicating half a day to knitting, staff and customers raised £205, which was doubled by the Asda Foundation, making a total of £410, in aid of The Sunshine Box, which transforms the experiences of children in hospital by providing gifts to help make their stay more comfortable.

The knit-a-thon also meant that newborns at Ninewells Hospital were treated to a range of special edition baby clothes, including hats and jumpers, made during the fundraiser.

Customers who wish to donate items for The Sunshine Box can drop them off at Asda Kirkton.
