Drink evidence limited
EVIDENCE that light drinking in pregnancy can harm an unborn baby is “surprisingly limited”, a review has discovered.
Experts found little evidence that light drinking in pregnancy causes harm, including on issues such as birth defects, developmental delay, behavioural problems and impaired intelligence. But the team warned that a lack of evidence is not proof that it is fine to drink, and they still recommend that pregnant women do not drink alcohol just in case.
