Discovery Pro-Am success
PUTTS were sunk and thousands of pounds were raised at an annual charity golf event in aid of a city landmark.
Golfing professionals teamed up with keen amateurs at Downfield Golf Club i n t he Discovery Pro-Am event.
Now in its second year, the competition raises money for the city’s historic ship, the RRS Discovery.
Event organisers are still collating the final figure from the event, but believe more than £3,000 will be handed over to Dundee Heritage Trust.
Leading the way representing the professionals were Gareth Wright and Paul O’Hara with a score of 69 and Alastair Forsyth and Graham f ox, who notched up a round of 70.
The winning team were the GS Group, who scored 131.
Organiser Craig Simpson said: “The Discovery Pro-Am was a great event that was really well supported by t he local and business community.
“We are still finalising the total raised.”
