Cel­e­bra­tion of women

FIRST Min­is­ter Ni­cola Stur­geon is to take cen­tre stage at a fes­ti­val be­ing held in Perth which cel­e­brates the achieve­ments of women and girls while ex­am­in­ing the fac­tors which may hold them back.

WOW — Women of the World Perth 2017 — will fea­ture Ms Stur­geon as the open­ing speaker in con­ver­sa­tion with WOW founder Jude Kelly.

The pro­gramme for the fes­ti­val fea­tures prom­i­nent ac­tivists, speak­ers, busi­ness­women, artists, broad­cast­ers and cam­paign­ers in­clud­ing Kirsty Wark, Les­ley Rid­doch and co­me­dian Luisa Omielan.

The fes­ti­val will de­but in Scot­land at Perth Con­cert Hall over the week­end of Oc­to­ber 27-29 and in­cludes talks and de­bates, mu­sic, dance, theatre, per­for­mance, po­etry and com­edy as well as work­shops and ac­tiv­i­ties.
