Gardens used to be 9-holer

I’VE walked past Barnhill Rock Gardens probably a thousand times and this week it delivered a new sight.

The area always looks lovely with the flowers, plants and blooms providing a picturesque backdrop during my regular wanders along the Esplanade.

The other day I smiled to myself when I saw a young lad and his dad there having fun playing with a putter and a golf ball.

They didn’t look out of place at all — maybe that’s because the gardens were created on what used to be a nine-hole golf course.
