Tay­lor keeps up fine run of form

TEN-year-old Tay­lor MacKen­zie won gold in the 50 me­tres back­stroke, but­ter­fly and freestyle at the Dis­abled Discovery Games at Dundee Olympia.

Ear­lier in the year, the Men­zieshill White­hall mem­ber did well in the Spe­cial Olympics in Sh­effield, win­ning golds in the same events and a bronze medal in the 4x25 me­tres re­lay where she swam but­ter­fly.

Men­zieshill White­hall swim­mers have had a busy time.

A to­tal of 53 took part in a 26-mile triathlon start­ing at Cam­per­down Park. It fin­ished up with a bar­beque.

Stephen Adams not only won his first Open Wa­ter Cham­pi­onship from Stan­ner­gate to Dundee, he won the dou­ble Tay swim, the Discovery Mile and was a team mem­ber in the Broughty Ferry Har­bour re­lay.

On Mon­day (6.45) at Kingsway Col­lege, Mid­lands District hold a meet­ing.

The fi­nal meet of the Mid­lands District Premier is at For­far to­mor­row.

THE open­ing fix­tures in the Bri­tish Leagues are this week­end with the se­nior ladies at New­port. Cale­do­nia meet Coven­try to­mor­row and Lon­don Ot­ter on Sun­day.

Brian Littlejohn has re­tired. He took the sport up at Kirk­ton High and played for Scot­land and GB.

He also ref­er­eed at the Bei­jing and Lon­don Olympics.

On Sun­day in Stir­ling, Men­zieshill meet Dun­fermline in an U/16-17 game.
