Taylor keeps up fine run of form

TEN-year-old Taylor MacKenzie won gold in the 50 metres backstroke, butterfly and freestyle at the Disabled Discovery Games at Dundee Olympia.

Earlier in the year, the Menzieshil­l Whitehall member did well in the Special Olympics in Sheffield, winning golds in the same events and a bronze medal in the 4x25 metres relay where she swam butterfly.

Menzieshil­l Whitehall swimmers have had a busy time.

A total of 53 took part in a 26-mile triathlon starting at Camperdown Park. It finished up with a barbeque.

Stephen Adams not only won his first Open Water Championsh­ip from Stannergat­e to Dundee, he won the double Tay swim, the Discovery Mile and was a team member in the Broughty Ferry Harbour relay.

On Monday (6.45) at Kingsway College, Midlands District hold a meeting.

The final meet of the Midlands District Premier is at Forfar tomorrow.

WATER POLO

THE opening fixtures in the British Leagues are this weekend with the senior ladies at Newport. Caledonia meet Coventry tomorrow and London Otter on Sunday.

Brian Littlejohn has retired. He took the sport up at Kirkton High and played for Scotland and GB.

He also refereed at the Beijing and London Olympics.

On Sunday in Stirling, Menzieshil­l meet Dunfermlin­e in an U/16-17 game.
