Scougall form pleases Wright

-

ST JOHNSTONE boss Tommy Wright is pleased with the form being shown by midfield man Stefan Scougall — and he feels there is more to come.

As the hours ticked away to tomorrow’s away match against Dundee, Tommy said: “Stefan has been good for us since he came in during the close season.

“He can hurt the opposition but we have to get him on the ball in the forward areas of the park more.

“Stefan has really been excellent and can continue to be so.

“The same applies to Michael O’Halloran.

“He’s been great for us and deadly in front of goal and we have to get the ball.”

Illness forced Murray Davidson off at half-time in last Saturday’s 1-1 home divide against Hibs but he is now back in training.

If he comes through today’s session and shows no reaction, Saints will make a decision on whether to play him or not.

Saints have 11 points from five games and Dundee have only one point but Tommy believes the Dens men are a better team than t heir points tally suggests.

He commented: “I don’t read anything i nto their league position as they have been creating chances.

“I have no doubt this will be a very difficult game for us.

“With three wins and two draws from our five league games, we will go to Dens with confidence but we will be cautious and give Dundee respect.

“They beat us 3-0 there on Hogmanay. We didn’t take our chances and they took theirs.

“My players must take their chances tomorrow and make sure they shut the door at the back.”
