Teen left bleeding at cinema

POLICE are on the hunt for a man who punched a 14-year-old boy twice and left him bleeding at a Dundee cinema.

It is understood the incident took place after both parties attended a screening of horror movie It, at Odeon, Douglasfie­ld.

The man is said to have punched the 14-year-old within the screening room, after the film have finished.

The teenager was left bleeding from the nose but escaped serious injury.

Police today revealed they are making inquiries to trace a white man, who may have had a Turkish accent, following the attack.

The man was said to have been wearing a jumper, jogging bottoms and had on high-top trainers.

A police spokesman confirmed they had launched an investigat­ion into the incident.

He said: “Police Scotland is dealing with a report of an assault which happened within the Odeon around 9pm on Friday.

“A 14-year-old boy was punched twice in the face by a man in his mid-thirties within one of the auditorium­s after the screening of a film.”

Police have called for members of the public to come forward if they have any informatio­n relating to the incident which could help officers with their investigat­ion.

The spokesman added that people contacting them can use t he reference number: CR/24201/17.”

Odeon Cinemas was contacted for comment by the Tele but had not responded at the time of going to press.
